The Basic OSHA Training for New Hires in Medical Facilities course covers the training needed to get new employees up to date with the safety policies and regulations they must follow to stay in compliance. This course will help participants understand their OSHA requirements and how to apply them to their day-to-day functions. Topics covered include fire safety, handwashing, bloodborne pathogens, chemical spills, fire safety, handwashing, OSHA recordkeeping, and more. This course also meets the latest GHS awareness requirements by covering Safety Data Sheets, pictograms, and the new labeling systems.
Participants will learn how to:
Discuss OSHA’s role in promoting worker safety.
Respond to smoke or fire in the work area.
Prevent exposures to bloodborne pathogens, including HIV, HBC, and HBV.
What to do if exposed to blood or other potentially infectious material.
Ensure that engineering controls, safe work practice controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE) are in place for all identified hazards.
Locate the OSHA Safety Manual.
State which chemicals are hazardous and how to prevent exposure.
